What is the Community Action Network?
As Mission Cy-Fair began training, we found that individuals across the community felt isolated in their efforts. Very quickly individuals began coming together to share encouragement and best practices, pray together and collaborate efforts. So Mission Cy-Fair formed a Community Action Network (CAN) that meets once a month to focus on equipping the body of Christ to actively serve in our community.
Why participate in a CAN meeting?
At each meeting we have practical teaching about how to effectively impact the community. We also divide into “breakout groups” around specific areas of interest. Each of these “breakout groups” is facilitated by a community liaison who has extensive experience in that particular area of interest. Once in a breakout group, you will have time to meet with like-minded individuals to strategically pray, share resources and encouragement, and collaborate efforts.

Who can participate in a CAN meeting?
Anyone who has a heart to serve and desires to be around other Christians who share in your specific area of interest, or those who just want to see where to plug into the community are invited. Individuals who participate are from various denominations, ethnicities and socio-economic backgrounds, and have a heart to give back to others the love that God has given them. High school students are also welcome and encouraged to attend.
How can I participate in a CAN meeting?
Just show up! Mission Cy-Fair's CAN meeting is held the last Sunday evening of each month from 6 – 7:30 pm at Copperfield Church. (Check calendar for changes due to holidays.) For more information contact Stan Stevenson: stan.stevenson@missioncyfair.org.
